The Pig - in the Cotswolds is right in the heart of it all. A genuinely unspoilt, elegant building filled with large bedrooms overlooking the original arts and crafts style gardens, created by renowned garden designer, Rosemary Verey.
Stepping into this special house feels like coming to visit your great Aunt Rosemary. It’s cosy, homely and filled with lots of nooks and crannies – the kind of rooms you can hunker down and lose an afternoon in.
You’ll find many hidden gems around every corner of the property – from The Village Pub across the road to the small, but perfectly formed, spa tucked away in the gardens with treatment rooms, a sauna and a sunny outdoor terrace.
Many of the bedrooms in the main house are very large – some of the largest in the litter – with spacious showers and big bathtubs, either in the room or in a separate, large bathroom. Each bedroom has all the comfy, familiar fabrics and furnishings that are classically PIG, with some overlooking the ornamental gardens.
The ornamental gardens here were Rosemary Verey’s first ever creation – the true essence of quintessential English beauty filled with listed archways, potager gardens and a lush Laburnum walkway.
Beyond the back of the house, you'll find the Kitchen Garden – it’s the beating heart of our restaurant’s 25 mile menu. Unlike our other PIGs, this Kitchen Garden is not walled and instead has some of the longest beds and largest fruit cages. It also has one of the longest native foraging hedges in the litter, made up of plants that all produce edible nuts or berries.
Our PIG gardening team have taken inspiration from the surroundings and the history of the land to grow the delicious homegrown produce that make up our seasonal dishes here in the Cotswolds.
