Cotswold Cycling Breaks
The Cotswold hills and villages are an amazing cycling breaks destination. Whether you want to spend a day or a week exploring, cycling is a great way to see the wonderful scenery and distinctive character of the Cotswolds, with routes ranging from gentler slopes to sharper escarpments.
There are many accommodation providers who have bicycle storage, so you can keep your bikes safe at night. Please ensure you ask about the storage facilities at the time of booking.
A wide range of cycling routes cover some of the finest countryside and villages in the UK, allowing you to experience pretty towns and villages, as well as stunning scenery. The variety of terrains range from the gentler slopes of the Severn Vale, to the sharper escarpments of the Cotswold Hills. The cycling routes take you along country lanes, canal side and some traffic- free routes.
A well-planned 7-day Circular Cycling tour map covers 30 miles a day and can be purchased at most local Tourist Information Centres for £3.99 or it can be purchased online from sustrans.org.uk. Additional circular routes for one-day rides across the area start from Nailsworth, Berkeley, Painswick, Burford, Cirencester and Winchcombe and are FREE to download by clicking here.
There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy visitor attractions along the route and you will be sure to find a lovely cafe, pub or restaurant in most of the towns and villages throughout the Cotswolds.
