Cotswolds Tourism Awards 2015

The Results

In conjunction with Cotswold Life, Cotswolds Tourism has been busy judging the fifth annual Cotswold Tourism Awards which shine a spotlight on outstanding hotels, B&Bs, visitor attractions and other tourism businesses in the region.

The 2015 Awards highlight the successes and achievements of Cotswold tourism businesses throughout the last year in 13 categories: Bed and Breakfast/Guest Accommodation of the Year,

Self-Catering Holiday Provider of the Year, Small Hotel of the Year, Large Hotel of the Year, Holiday Park/Holiday Village of the Year, Small Visitor Attraction of the Year, Large Visitor Attraction of the Year, Taste of England Award, Tourism Experience of the Year, Visitor Information Centre Provider of the Year, Access for all, Sustainable Tourism Award and the final award sponsored by Cotswold Life is the Tourism Event of the Year Award.

The awards use the same categories and application processes as the VisitEngland National Awards. Gold and silver winners for each category automatically go through to the national awards which will be decided in 2015.

The Cotswold Tourism judging panel comprised several renowned tourism experts, Cotswold Life representatives and Sarah Tyler of GFirst LEP. A panel spokesman said: “Tourism is a vital industry for the Cotswolds – it’s worth £1 billion to the local economy and accounts  for 8% of employment – and we believe these awards help to publicise and boost the standards of the accommodation and attractions on offer, encouraging even more visitors to the destination.  This year we have reviewed a wide range of high quality applications from across the Cotswolds.  It has been especially encouraging to note the increase in applications from new businesses. The entries have been difficult to judge because they are all so good and it was a shame that we couldn’t recognise everyone.  The judges had a tough job but we feel we have rewarded our biggest achievers who highlight what is great about our area. We are very pleased with the outcome and we hope that next year’s awards will attract even more businesses to apply, especially in the Public house sector and tourism business sector which we were not able to award this year.”

The Cotswold Tourism Awards are in association with Cotswold Life Magazine, our media partner for the awards and the only local monthly magazine to be associated with the event, find out more at http://www.cotswoldlife.co.uk/
